Nicola has been a Super Stylist for the last two years and recently graduated from L'Oreal as a Colour Specialist. Find out more about her extension addiction, what helps her make beautiful hair and her mantra for a life we could all use.
Tell us your favourite Remi Cachet product & why
My favourite product is the Superweft. I just love the fullness you can create so quickly and the quality is amazing. I wear these myself and love how long they last. I also love the Ultra Tips too, so I find there's a product to suit all my clients.
What does it mean to you to be a Super Stylist?
Being a Superstylist is a great opportunity. You get to find out about any exciting new products which are being launched and that makes you feel involved and supported. For me, it helps me to keep pushing myself and to keep on learning.
Give us your best piece of advice for a client looking into hair extensions
My biggest piece of advice would be to research the best product suitable for your hair, to be realistic and follow all the aftercare advice. By doing that you'll find the extensions that you love and that is easy to manage.
What tool/product can you not live without?
My Babyliss Pro curling tongs. I've got them in all sizes and they've been my go-to tool for years. They're definitely hard to beat.
Tell us a little about your salon
I've had my salon for nearly 4 years now and I love it. We're based in West Cumbria and we have a close team of 10 who I wouldn't be able to do it without. We do most aspects of hairdressing and have clients of all different ages which can be a lot of fun, as well as a lot of regular clients too, which is lovely.
Any niggles about the hair industry you would love to change?
The main thing for me is being realistic about what you can achieve. I always think honesty is the best policy, but filtering photos and social media can sometimes make that quite hard. We do a lot of colouring in the salon and this is when it can often create obstacles.
Let's take a look at some of your work ...
ON A PERSONAL NOTE ...
What’s your guilty pleasure? It would probably be shopping and coffee. I love a bit of retail therapy, and coffee definitely gets me through early starts and busy days.
On a rare day off, what do you love to do? I like to spend some time at home, we can do long days in the salon so it's nice catching up with family and going out with friends.
Mantra you live by I think things always work out in the end, I'm a big believer in karma and think things always work out as they should, so sometimes you just have to go with it.
Any work goals This year I am really working on my business, I've spent a couple of years doing a lot of training, so I think now it's time to work on the salon for a while.
