Getting The Perfect Colour Match
At Remi Cachet, we love a perfect colour match. From creating exact matches, to using the other flawless colours to add depth, lift or to just add a pop of colour. Finding the right colour and getting that match is crucial to a great set of hair extensions.
Sending photos for a colour match might have good intentions but something to consider is the difference in photo quality from phone to phone which can influence the colour and therefore resulting in a risk of mistakes happening. The same goes for online consultations; there's nothing the same as seeing a stylist in person. That’s why we only recommend that extension clients head to Find a Stylist near them for a professional in person, colour match.
Here’s a few key points to get started:
COLOUR RINGS
We have a couple of colour rings available and it’s worth checking if you have all the colours.
FACE TO FACE
In person consultations allow the extensionist to assess the true colour of the hair in a good light aswell as the colour differentiations at the roots, mid length and ends.
It’s important to come to the consultation with clean hair and that you are able to take the hair down for an accurate assessment. Also, if you have colour work done elsewhere make sure you time your hair extension consultation with your fresh colour as going beforehand may result in a bad colour match.
Working with small sections of your hair and the colour ring, the extensionist can check the colour, tone, and warmth to find the perfect match.
Additionally, when face to face, the extensionist can also assess your skin tone and eye colour, to make colour suggestions that would really work with your colouring.
COLOUR OPTIONS
For more natural results a blend of colour works best. We have some mixed shades and depending on the application, there are options to expertly mix more colours. For example, sandwiching different coloured tapes, working with pre-bonded methods to alternate the colour, or using fuse bonds to create a customised colour match.
CREATIVITY WITH COLOUR
Sometimes it’s not about an exact match but a colour to compliment your personality. From toning down, to standing out or to even just to follow a colour trend, like face-framing:
Not quite the match? Any unwanted products can be returned for a refund within thirty days of purchase as long as it’s still in its original, unopened packaging. For full T&C’s you can follow this link here.
For extensionists, there are a couple of points to note about colour consultations:
- Talk to your clients about Discolouration and Colour Fade. It might be worth sharing this helpful blog with them.
- It is also necessary to think about the colour of the accessories such as thread and locks.
