Hair Colours We Expect To Trend In Spring 2023
With spring now finally here, we have done our seasonal research and highlighted the top four colours we think will be trending this season. With these predicted trends, you can be prepared for your client’s consultation with what is expected to make an impact…
Caramel Blonde
Starting off with a stunning sunkissed look that is perfect for the warmer days ahead, Caramel Blonde is great for your clients seeking a softer blending colour, according to Salon Business. Further explaining, that the “colour is expensive and luxurious and will take your client’s blondes to new heights” we think that this look just screams a gorgeous opportunity to give your clients a new look this season.

Red Hair
You probably knew this was coming but red shades show no sign of stopping this spring. Hairdressers Journal explains “copper hair” was the colour of the year in 2022 with 55,000 searches in one month alone towards the end of 2022.
Therefore, they predict that “all shades of red will be popular in 2023, ranging from fiery reds, deep burgundy, warm auburn and copper.” We completely agree and this surely won’t be stopping in spring, with these gorgeous shades continuing to be a prominent trend in our tagged images.
Here are just two that have caught our eye recently from @beaubillauhair and @jessbiddlemakeuphair...
Butterscotch Blonde
There’s been “Expensive Blonde”, “Tweed Blonde”, “Icy Blonde”, now there’s “Caramel Blonde” as mentioned, AND “Butterscotch Blonde".
As described by Salon Magazine,“Blonde is always more common as we move towards spring. Clients are starting to think ahead to summer…”.
It's not just industry professionals telling their predicted trends to stylists like you but there are also numerous professionals’ predictions being talked about directly to your clients. One of which is from Glamour magazine with Madison Reed master colourist Shvonne Perkins telling the magazine “Deep blonde will be trending this season, with Butterscotch Blonde taking the cake… this rich, balanced colour allows for a beautiful golden depth, instead of an icy pop.” So, your clients could be bringing this trend straight to their consultations. Be prepared with some of these Butterscotch Blonde looks we have been tagged in by @hairbycharlottex_x and @wendy_hairofdreams.
Melted Chocolate
Leading stylist, trend forecaster and Evo hair creative director Tom Smith has this gorgeous rich shade on his list for the six hair colour trends he thinks will be major this spring. Describing the colour to Stylist magazine as a “subtle, multi-tonal brunette shade, oozing with richness and shine, melted chocolate hair is characterised by its warmth (without tipping into popular ‘reddish’ tones) and intense gloss.”
