Marie Claire Hair Awards 2023: Winner Of Best Ethical Hair Initiative
On Wednesday 19th March 2023, we were honoured to be awarded the “Best Ethical Hair Initiative” at the Marie Claire Awards 2023…
The Award…
Back in 2021, we won the award when we introduced our Hair Recycling Scheme, so it’s amazing that two years later we have won the award again having introduced a new campaign working with Little Lady Locks.
Check out the Marie Claire article.
If you didn’t know already, last year we teamed up with children’s charity Little Lady Locks an inspiring charity that creates wigs and hair pieces with our recycled hair extensions that still have life left in them, for children suffering with hair loss conditions such as alopecia amongst many others.

Judged by 38 high-profile industry experts, sustainability champions and influences, the judges were overall attracted to the idea of our scheme resulting in landfills not being filled with hair waste but instead allowing the hair to be put in good use and all for such a great cause.
Moreover, Judge Ally Head, Marie Claire’s Health, Sustainability & Relationship Editor noted: “I think it's a really great idea and an innovative use of hair that would have otherwise gone to waste.”
A Word From Our Founder Victoria Lynch…
Following our win our founder Victoria Lynch commented “We have always been proud of our recycling scheme and since introducing our collaboration with Little Lady Locks the support from stylists has been amazing. Hair donations have increased and we can help such a worthy cause. To now have this recognised again on Marie Claire’s platform is incredible and proves how important it is to continually re-evaluate and improve existing schemes to be even greener and ethical.”
A Word From Little Lady Locks…
Of course, it’s not just us celebrating this huge achievement, but also the wonderful founder of Little Lady Locks, Ashley Higgins who shared her joy… “It is so exciting for Remi Cachet to receive this acknowledgement for their recycling work and it is very much deserved. Since we have partnered up with them and received their monthly hair donations, our charity has transformed. We have so much more variety in lengths and colours which means the children are not waiting as long for hairpieces and wigs to be made, and they have great quality hair to wear. It has sparked more interest from other salons and stylists that want to help us and make our charity grow. We appreciate all the support from the hair industry for the work we are doing. Together we can make a difference to children suffering with hair loss.”.
A Big Thank You…
We are so honoured to have won this Marie Claire Award for ‘Best Ethical Hair Innovative’ but we are also thankful to our amazing stylists who have contributed to the scheme by donating hair. Without the hair, our hair recycling scheme would not be able to be as successful as it is so for that a huge thank you and well done to everyone who has contributed.

Don’t forget that any hair that you send to us for recycling that cannot be used for Little Lady Locks, we send to Matter Of Trust for their Clean Wave Campaign that can create ‘hair mats’ with our recycled hair extensions, which are then used to soak up major oil spills. You can find out more about our recycling scheme as a whole and how you can get involved by reading Recycling At Remi Cachet.
A big thank you again to everyone who has contributed. If you have any questions about our scheme, feel free to contact us and one of our team will be happy to help.
